College Football/Getting 40 time up
Expert: Thom Brooks - 10/19/2008
Questioni am looking to walk on a D1 football team and play corner or FS but im not
fast enough, so what can i do to get my speed to like 4.4 or 4.5 i run about a
4.8 4.9.
Im a freshman in college right now but im at a D3 school so im trying to
transfer to the school i wanna play for, so when is a good time to talk to the
coach about walking on? Like suppose i enroll in the school next fall does it
mean i cant tryout for that season?
AnswerJay, hello!
If you transfer, you will have to sit out for one year. Contact the school of choice immediately so they can give you the time table you must follow.
Increasing your speed naturally would be to keep running sprints after sprints after sprints. Your diet would obviously be required to lean towards body building. Mental awareness (in what you do on that first step) can lower your time. Some runners have a hitch or hesitation that could make a difference on fractions of time. So, have a trainer make certain that your Mechanics are sound, to see if you have a bad habit that needs improving. The time of day that you exercise may not be the same time of day that you play. Sometimes the clock in your body reacts to your physical exertion differently.
So, if you know the tryouts would be at a certain time, it could help to get your body conditioned to that similar time.
Take care and I hope you will keep me informed of your aweseome future career in College Ball!
