Question
Hi
thanks for taking the time to read my question,,  I didnt play my senior year of HS football and now realized it was the biggest mistake of my life and I want to make up for it by walking on a D3 college...I would really like to play linebacker but I'll do whatever i can to help my team,, as of right now im into lifting weights getting as strong as i ever been and gaining good weight one of the teams linebacker size was 6 ft 195 im 6ft and weigh 194 but want to get my weight up to 205 but stay fast my running drills are running hills and pulling sleds and bear crawling hills,, my 40 time is a 4.7 bench 335 squat 500,and power clean 300. The thing that worries me is do they let you tryout for your position cause if so i want to go out for linebacker cause thats what i played in hs,  everyone says im a good hitter and and fly to the ball and is there any chance if im good enough i could start by my senior year or even sophmore year i got a punching bag and an old practice helmet and i'll work on hitting that so i dont loose hitting power,,I know its not going to be easy but I feel like its something i have to do and might take me 1 or 2 years to get used to the college level.  Sorry this was such a long question and any advice will help.. thank you i really appriciate this

Answer
John, hello!

Your times and weights look great.  Your attitude sounds like you have the passion and desire, so you will make the D-3 school.  You will be playing much sooner than you think if you show skills and Leadership.

You need to enlist the help of the current players at the college where you will seek to play.  They will bring you into their Band of Brothers for the workouts.  Your local TV, radio and newspaper sports people can help, too.

Go through the following websites for NCAA, and recruiting for the different levels.
