QUESTION: What determines who is the HOME and VISITOR teams for the BCS National Championship Game? Which team this year (OKLAHOMA or FLORIDA) is the HOME team?

ANSWER: Robert, hello!

In lesser divisions, the home team is decided by the best record in the playoffs.  In the BCS game, I'm not certain.  We should hear about that soon.  I would think they would flip a coin before the game day to determine who wears the home jerseys.  The coin flip at the game will just determine who gets the ball first.

I know that the HOME and VISITOR teams for the BCS National Championship have already been determined, because they are distributing (home and visitor side stadium) tickets now.  I want to know how they determined which is which??

Robert,

I will search this week for the answer, but think the logical answer is that they simply flip a coin to determine Home Field.  The other possibility is that the Bowl Committee selects which conference will be designated the Home Team, and then alternate.  I'm not sure we can find out without writing directly to the committee.
