Question
Hi, I am a Senior in High School about to graduate, and I am currently 5'6", 140lbs, and i play CB. If you want to see my highlight tape here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgVoVcG7UXU I really want to play College football here in Texas and I want to play D1 football. Is that possible for my size? I am working very hard to gain 20lbs, and get faster. Currently i run a 4.6 40, and about a 4.1 shuttle. Bench 190, and squat 285. Is there a chance for me at any D1 Texas College? If so where? If not, what about D1-AA or D2? Can I still make it to the NFL playing D2 or D3? Thanks for taking time to read and help me out.

Thanks,
Omar

Answer
Omar, hello!

Only you know your limitations.  I've attached the NCAA website for you to review.  You need to contact the colleges of choice.  They will give you the direct information that you seek.  You will grow and gain strength so your size will improve.  Many college players can excel and your size but the coaches will want to know how durable you will be when making contact with the bigger guys.  Your speed is good but the big WR are also very fast.  You have to make up any deficit by being smarter than the opponent.

Merry Christmas!
