Question
Hi, I am a Senior in High School about to graduate, and I am currently 5'6", 140lbs, and i play CB. If you want to see my highlight tape here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgVoVcG7UXU I really want to play College football here in Texas and I want to play D1 football. Is that possible for my size? I am working very hard to gain 20lbs, and get faster. Currently i run a 4.6 40, and about a 4.1 shuttle. Bench 190, and squat 285. Is there a chance for me at any D1 Texas College? If so where? If not, what about D1-AA or D2? Can I still make it to the NFL playing D2 or D3? Thanks for taking time to read and help me out.

Thanks,
Omar

Answer
Omar, hello!

It's too soon to think about the NFL but you can certainly train for the college level.  Contact the Texas schools where you choose to play.  The bigger colleges have the best of the blue chips to select.
Texas has plenty of quality programs at all levels.

At your age, with discipline in training and diet, your size and strength will increase.  So, you will get better than ever if you stay motivated. I've attached some websites for you to broaden your knowledge on the NCAA requirements.

Contact the school and they will help with their dates for tryouts and interviews.

Merry Christmas!
