Question
I seen a recent question/answer review from you about football walk ons, and i was wondering if you could give me some advice. I was not able to attend college this year my first year out of highschool, but i miss football and want to go back to school this coming august. I have started hitting the gym real hard to try to get back in shape, i know its not the same as a coach pushing you but i cant just sit out. I'm in a hard situation money wise this year due to family problems, and plan on calling colleges and seeing if i can get loans and grants to get in, if im able to do so i want to walk on to the football team. Any advice about this whole situation? I am 6 foot tall, im gaining weight trying to get to 225 i am 195 right now. i run roughly a 4.4 40 time, and have a bench of 315. i would greatly apperciate any advice.

Answer
James, hello!

I've attached some of the websites for the NCAA that will help you with the grade eligibility.  You're doing the right thing by contacting the colleges about grants/scholarship.

You need to make contact with any of your local coaches, players and local football officials.  Those guys that call games have a lot of connections with colleges and can get you steered the right way.

Merry Christmas!
