College Football/getting notice

Question
Its shows that you also answer football instruction questions, so here it is. How do I get a coach to notice me and give me a chance at quarterback. I'm getting into football my JV year so I'm afraid the coach will automatically write me off and go with past quarterbacks. Do I bug him and ask for the chance to show what I got?

Great question.  You chose the right words "how to get a coach to notice you and to give you a chance."  First you are a QB, so to be a QB you need to be a leader and mature.

A very mature approach is to ask the coach if you could meet with him for 10 minutes during lunch or after school.  Then, tell him you would like to be one of his QBs next season.  Then ask him if he can work with you to develop a plan of action to accomplish this for next season.

This tells the coach you have a mature approach, you are proactive and you are going to him for help.  Then ask him if he could mentor you in the off season so you are up to speed by summer.

This gets you noticed, it should get you the opportunity you seek and it makes sure you don't get blown off...

Don't bug him, that will get you ignored.  Ask him to mentor you and to teach you to become the QB that he wants and that the team needs. Be coachable, be a leader, get to know everyone in the program (freshmen, JV, Varsity) and be the nice guy and a leader.  Be intense in the weightroom and running in the off season.

Keep me informed.  I have a feeling good things will happen for you.  Also study hard so you can take those skills to the college level.
