Question
Thom, I'm going off to college this fall at LSU and have been wanting to play there for so long. I stopped playing football my freshmen year in highschool because my other coach didn't want me playing another sport because i might get hurt.
I am 5'9 and weighing about 180lbs but gaining strength extremely fast. I run a 4.7 in the 40 yard dash.
I know I still have it in me.

How can I get into the football program at LSU if I stopped playing football 3 years ago?

Answer
Garrett, hello!

First of all, it will be a great thrill and honor to attend LSU.  In regards to your playing for that football team, you may have a chance but you're talking about a National Champion that will likely have 5 guys backed up trying to make that team!  If you're exceptional, you can succeed.  Are you talking about RB or DB ?

You need to contact your counselor and the Coaching staff.  Their offices will advise you of the minimum grade standards and the times for tryouts/walkons.

Let me know if you make the team!!
