Question
Thom, my son is currently a player at a d3 school that recruited him. He had some d1 attention as well and a d2 scholarship offer.A d1-aa school in our area is starting a football team after not having one for 40 years. Some of his highschool classmates are already on the team. He wants to switch schools. How hard is it to walk on a d1 team? His high school stats were just as good as some of his classmates who are now on d1-aa teams and one who is on a d1-a team. Thanks

Answer
Jo, Hello!

He needs to contact that school of choice in order for them to evaluate his talent.  If his grades meet the NCAA standards to play, he will be advised about their openings, dates, tryouts, and camps.

His former coaches and players that are in that school can certainly help get him on their team.  It is difficult to make the roster for any D-I school, but if he has talent and timing, he will make it !
