College Football/scholarship rule

Question
Hey I was wondering is it possible to get a scholarship for the coming academic year in college if someone prove to be really good and start during camp which is before the school year starts? IF it is possible is there any rule against it?

Answer
Dave, hello!  Go to NCAA.org to their rules section to research your answer.  The Coaches are not allowed to talk with you at this time until the tryouts in the fall.  If they are at their maximum for scholarships, depending on which division level, then you would not be eligible.  If they have a scholarship withdrawn, you may be able to get a partial or full ride.  If you make the team this Fall, you would be eligible for the following year if they are committed to their allotment for this season.
