Question
I am 6'6 and weigh 250 with some muscle. i just graduated high school and am 18 and am still growing. i very broad shoulders and have 16-17 size feet. which help with not being able to be moved easily.
i am taking a year off from school to do some things and get in shape. i have an identical twin brother and he is the same way. my uncle adamantly wants me and him to try and walk on or at least tryout. i dont have much experience other than play around with friends every week

i was thinking about playing as a defensive back or defense in general. i was just wondering would college coaches even look at a walk on like me? and if so do you
know of any colleges in the nj or pa area that would take walk ons?

any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Answer
Jon, hello!  Not knowing your experience and skills, I would say you are too big for DB but appear to be suited for the O-Line or D-Line.  You need to contact:

NCAA.com

and

D1.com

in order to start researching the colleges of choice in N.J. and PA.  Your educational pursuits will also lead you to the college team you can try out for.  If you do not have a lot of football time, you may still be able to play for a Junior College or Division III school.  Many have quality programs but their standards are not as high as a team like Penn State or Rutgers.

Contact your local TV and radio sports show people.  They have a lot of exposure to offer you in your quest to find the team and school you want.

Take care,
