QuestionWhat do i need to do to get recruited from a D1 school playing at a D3
school. I am going to be a
freshman this year at a D3 school and i will be looking to transfer what do i
need to do in order to
have programs that i would like to play for be recrutiting me. When i was in
highschool i was a victum
of politics. I did everything my hea coach told me. Summer workouts, Sprints,
extra taining and he
even told me i was going to be a captain. But he never named me it and he
never gave me an
oppurtunity. Everyone around me knew i was wworthy to lead the team. My
carries on the year was
the least but i still had the most rushing yards but he never even cared and
neglected to allow me to
run the ball. I am hoping tha when i go to school this fall i can do very well
and that i can get
recruited be D1 programs. I know its not a shot in the dark i just dont want to
make the mistakes i
made before. My coach didnt even bother to get me recruited i did it on my
own. So any help would
be great please. IS the anything i can do to get D1 programs knocking at my
door in regards to a
stellar freshman season. Its been a dream to play D1 and i will not let this
stop me...PLease help
AnswerJames, hello!
I have attached some websites for you to review. Contact the school of your choice and they will give you the details of their program's tryouts, schedules, grade requirements, etc.
Leadership is an Art that one develops. If you have the physical and mental skills to be a great football player, you can develop your game and improve on your Leadership. All of us can improve. If you persist in effort, it will pay off. Don't look back at the disappointments but look forward to the new challenge. It is such an Honor for you to suit up for any football team. Division III is great some fine NFL players came out of those schools (Jerry Rice in a similar division), so you are not limited.
If you post good numbers and show the scouts that you are a team player, you will be noticed. You may have to sit out for one year if you move up a division.
Stay focused on your written goals. Play hard and you will earn the right to play ball, regardless if you're the team captain or not.
