College Football/Walk on
Expert: Thom Brooks - 8/17/2008
Question Hello Mr. Brooks, My names Keith and i am just curious about walk ons. In high school my grades were not good and I was very scrawny. Now im 22 5"10 and weigh 240 I bench 225 for 20 times. I live close to Tampa and people have told me i should try out for Usf I guess I have nothing to lose. What are the chances of a guy without much football experience getting onto a team, I really enjoy the game.
Thanks,Keith
AnswerKeith, hello!
This message is being sent twice because I got kicked off line and do not know if it reached you.
My answer was that you do not need to give up easily. You are at a disadvantage because the other men have many years of experience over you. If you are mentally tough and physically durable, you can make a team but it takes total committment.
Pleave review some of the attached sites.
Take care,
Thom Brooks
