QuestionQUESTION: I want to play football, that is all i think about. I am 6'3 208lbs. I train often on my speed and strength. I run the 40 in 4.56. I was wandering when tryouts are for a d2 school and what are my chances are on making a college football team. I only have played back yard football.
ANSWER: Jimmy, hello!
Your speed is good. You didn't mention the position you seek to play but if you're an athlete, you can make the team roster. You need to contact the school where you seek to enroll. They will give you the advice on dates of tryouts. If you have no experience, the men with 4 years of football time will be ahead but if you show the Coaches that you have Leadership, skill, endurance and motivation, you can move up the ladder in a hurry.
A good Coach will recognize a ball player even if you are starting late.
Let me know the team you make so I can follow your progress!

QUESTION: I am wanting to play wide receiver. I am very motivated and determined and i have came a long way from what i used to be at. I used to be 603 290 and slow. i have worked hard and trained myself and now i am 208 running the 40 in 4.56. I graduated straight out of high school not knowing if i wanted to go to college so i went straight into working full time. I believe that i can achieve alot and everyone tells me to go and try out for football. I train every day and i am verry dedicated to fitness. I just need to be pointed in the right direction or if you know any schools that are having tryouts. I am going on 23 and I know if i am going to try and make it on college level football that i need to do it now.
AnswerJimmy, hello!
As stated previously, you need to contact the schools where you want to play. They will give you the details of their tryouts, combines, scouts and when the Coaches will be available for interviews. If you have any stats or film, you need to share them with the college.
If you have any contacts with former or current players, coaches, YMCA, high school football association, your state high school sports association, all of them can assist. Call the local news media. The sports anchor for your nearest TV and radio stations will have a great deal of information. Seek their advice.
I attached a lot of websites previously for you to review the colleges as well as the NCAA website for the rules.
Get busy and let me know which school you enroll in.
