College Football/High School and College Football
Expert: Thom Brooks - 9/22/2008
QuestionHello Thom,
I am a junior in high school. I havent played any organized football before but feel I have a great potential to be a star. I hope to play Varsity football next year as a senior. Hope that goes well. But do you think one year of winning games and making plays will be enough to make me college bound? And how do I become a college walk on?
AnswerPatrick, Hello!
You are in a growing spurt of your life if you maintain a strong exercise program. You need to take special counsel from the high school Coaches. They will get you ready for their season but will also prepare you for the opportunity of playing college ball.
You can contact the Athletic Department of your college and they will advise about their requirements and dates for tryouts. If you have skills, you can attend the combines where the scouts and coaches will take note if you have the right stuff!
Take care,
Thom Brooks
