College Football/Pylon

Question
When a ball carrier dives for the end zone and stretches the ball towards the end zone, what part of the pylon does he need to hit for it to be a touchdown?

Answer
Carlos, hello!

If the ball penetrates the vertical plane of the opponent's goal line, and the player has not touched out of bounds, it will be a score.  He can be diving and while out of bounds, cross the imaginary plane of the extended goal line but the ball must cross the pylon.  If the ball crosses outside the pylon it is out of bounds and no score is allowed.

Take care,
