College Football/2-Point Conversion College Football
Expert: Thom Brooks - 1/25/2009
QuestionHaving recently watched movie "The Express" about life of
Ernie Davis - My question "What year did the NCAA begin to allow the 2-point conversion for a run or pass"? Also were there really fights on the field during the 1960 Cotton Bowl
between Syracuse & Texas due to Syracuse using black players? I was about 11 years-old at the time and was totally unaware that this was happening in such a major bowl game. Thank you for your input and May God Bless Ernie Davis!
AnswerMike, hello!
I have attached some websites for you to explore. If I find the first year of the 2 point conversion before you do, I will write back!
I remember the fights but not sure if that was the same game you refer to (Cuse and Horns). Ernie Davis was a great ballplayer. He never made the headlines the way Jim Brown did, but he was darn sure as tough.
