Expert: Thom Brooks - 1/28/2009
Questioni have never played football before. but i am always messing around throwing the pig skin with friends i can throw it very hard and far.prolly around 70 yards. im not very big though 6'2 173. do you think i have a shot at making it to a college team? and im not in school now just working. my grades werent very good in high school either 2.3 average. i graduated in 2007!?
AnswerMike, Good Morning!
I have attached some NCAA websites for you to inspect. If your grades meet the minimum standards, then you will be approved to try out for a college team.
I do not know how skilled you are. You are tall and thin so your size indicates you would be a good WR or DB. It all depends on your speed, vertical jump, and durability. You don't know your capability until another delivers a blow to your body. You will find out in a hurry that it hurts!
If your local coaches, trainers and friends evaluate you, then they can better steer you towards a certain college. The lesser division schools are more likely to accept a player with no experience. The top colleges get to choose from the most elite. You may be one of the undiscovered elite, so no one knows.
Take care,
Thom Brooks
