Question

Football picture
Hi Thom, I have a question about my chances for college football.Due to a argument with my high school coach, I was kicked off the team and I was thinking I would never play college football at even the D3 level. I have played football since my freshman year and I have had tons of football experience since. A coach at Wesley College wants to see senior film to evaluate my football skills and I have no film to show him. I have barely played during my whole high school career, but I have been increasing my muscle mass and studying plays for my senior year (which was cut short). Without film, college coaches might think less of me as a football player and not even consider me for their team. So far I ran a 5'0 for my 40 time and benched 145 pounds, but I am still working hard to meet college football standards. With all the hard work I'm putting through, Do you think I have a shot making a college football team next year, even though I have no game film and was never a starter? I'm not saying I want to play in a game right away, but to be part of a college football team (For Wesley, I have already been accepted and the coach knows about my academics)

Answer
Gary, hello!

If you have the skill many colleges will consider you.  All of them will need to know the reasons you were taken off the team.  If you have had any kind of behavior problem it will be a concern that you need to discuss with the new coach.  If he's convinced that you will be an asset to the team, then it's back to seeing if you can outplay the others that want the position.

I have attached some websites for you to explore.
