College Football - Shape of Football helmets

Expert: Thom Brooks - 10/29/2009

Question
This season, I have noticed that the shape of football helmets have changed.  (They may have changed earlier but I didn't really notice).  And it seems that the position that is being played dictates the new shape.  Case in point, the new shape is not smooth in the back but has a "tail fin" for lack of a better word for the backs but the front line seems to be wearing the "traditional" smooth backed helmet.  Have I missed something?  Was I just not as observant in earlier seasons?  I have seen the tail fin helmets on both college and pro...

Help me settle a bet.
Thank you

Answer
M N,,

I gave you free advice and sent you to many websites.  The NCAA website is NOT any charged fees.  I was not aware that any of them were charging but will remove them when I review.  My service is entirely voluntary
and I work hard to make people happy.  You're ungrateful attitude makes me want to not help people.  Luckily,
99 out of 100 are classy.

Thanks for rating me as the lowest possible.  You certainly spoil the enjoyment I gain from helping others.  The next time in your life you ask someone for assistance, I hope you get exactly what's coming to you.
