College Football/Soccer Player to Kicker
Expert: Thom Brooks - 10/4/2009
QuestionHi Thom,
Thank you for taking the time to look into my question. I have played soccer at the NCAA Division II level for 4 years, graduated last year and was looking to go back to Graduate school to work on my Masters and be a kicker for the Football team. Is that possible at NCAA or NAIA level? I am aware of the 5 year rule but does that apply for multi sports?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
AnswerDaniel, hello!
Yes, I believe you would be limited to one year unless the coaches and NCAA know of how you can conitnue. Many great NFL kickers were former soccer players, so the coaches will look for a legal way for you to suit up, if you have the skills!!
