College Football - am i fullback material

Expert: Thom Brooks - 10/19/2009

Question
Hey mr. brooks, my name is mike and i love football. im trying out for fullback and dont know if its a waist of my time or not. a lot of people tell me im to tall but i really dont want to believe them to be completely honest. im 14 years of age and im already 5'9 and weigh 160 lbs. i do have a lot of strength, agility and speed but most people say "im quarterback quality". so what do you say?

Answer
Mike, hello!

I can't answer that without seeing your performance but you will be coming into growth spurts over the next few years.  Keep on a healthy diet and sensible workouts.  You can be both FB, TE, and maybe QB.

Your coaches will assess your ability and put you where you can best help the team.

Take Care,

Thom Brooks
