College Football/College Walk-on

Question
I'm currently a high school senior and plan on walking on to a nearby University's football team. Due to personal issues, I did not play football my senior year in high school. I have had come D1 schools look at me. Schools like Alabama to others such as Western Kentucky University. Since i haven't been playing football, I have been lifting weights and hitting the weights. Before I get to carried away though i need to know if my strength is up to par with D1 football athletes.
Bench - 365                       Height - 6"1
Squat - 500                       Weight - 235
Power Clean - 325                 Positions - RB, TE, LB, DE
40 yard - 4.65

I keep working to get bigger, faster, and stronger, but i still have one question. What steps do i need to take in order to try out for a college team? My grades are good, and the NCAA Clearinghouse already have my ACT scores. They just need my transcipt.

Thanks

Answer
Kevin, hello!

Your numbers look good, but if you stay on a healthy diet (without enhancements), a good workout and sprint schedule and make contacts immediately with the schools, then you have a great chance.  Florida State had a QB that didn't even play ball until the 11th grade and he won the Heisman.

What matters is your skill, your Leadership and your dependability.

You are aware of the NCAA minimum grade standards, so write down a Business Plan of what degree you seek, what school fits your needs and goals, and then call them immediately.  They will advise their requirements and tryout dates.

Do great and let me know which team you suit up for!!
