College Football/eligibility
Expert: Thom Brooks - 11/29/2009
QuestionI played high school football and had several scholorship offers. I turned them down, spent one semester in college and quit. Now I regret that and would like to get back into school. I'm 22 now and wondered if I could still play football. I know I would have to walk on and earn it but I'm sure I could. My question is eligibility; is there an age limit?
AnswerDaniel, hello!
The NCAA has a running clock on eligibility but the school you attend can advise how much time you have. There is not an age limit, but a limit of 5 years window when you're playing. They will give you the details. Your age may have caused you to lose a step or two, but you can pick that back up with training. Your best attribute would be that your age would bring a calming effect of Leadership to a team filled with younger players. A good Coach will evaluate your talents, to include your guidance.
