QuestionQUESTION: hi im lookin to walk on to a junior college and then to transfer to a better college as a football playr. unfourtunatelyy my highschool never had a team so ii juss played like outside of school. im 5 8 181 pounds lookin to be a running bakk
other positions is safety anddd corner buhttt likee my question is waht can i do to better my chances as a walkon?
ANSWER: Jerry, hello!
I have attached some websites that you need to explore. Call the colleges where you wish to enroll. They will give you the advice on enrollment and the NCAA minimum grades they require. If you play at JUCO, you would need to sit out for one year if you move up to higher divisions, so be clear on the rules.
You will be competing against men that have 4 years or more of experience. Unless you are extremely talented, you will be listed at the bottom of the charts. So, you have to have some "selling pitch" to give to the Coaches. If you know the rules better than others, or if you show Leadership skills, Team spirit and the willingness to develop Chemistry, then you may have a chance.
You would have a better opportunity to play ball for JUCO or DIV 3 schools, where they may not offer scholarships but do offer a chance to suit up.

QUESTION: Ii alreadyy understand that ii must go to junior college. Buht my question is about likee workouts and stuff and drills ii should learn so wen im a walkon ii have aa good chancee of being sucessfull
AnswerJerry, you need a healthy diet, without enhancement drugs. You need to have a schedule of weight training, running sprints, and people that will give you football workouts. You need to learn the plays. It's more than being in shape. It's a matter of understanding the game, the rules, the endurance, the mental strategy.
You need to make contact with the college where you want to play. Their coaching staff will get you prepared with their scheme, schedules and requirements.
