can a student have a red shirt year and then get hurt the next year and get a hardship or medical red shirt to gain back a year ?? red shirt soph. year and next year get hurt does he ONLY have 2 years left or can he get 3 years???

Tom, yes but the NCAA has to approve the extra year.
