College Football/D1 eligibilty
Expert: Thom Brooks - 2/9/2009
QuestionI've been a full time student for 3 years at the community college level; however my 3rd year presently is my first year playing football and I was red-shirted this year. If I were to walk-on on a D1 program for the fall 2009 year, how many years of eligibilty would I have to play?
Thank you for your time.
AnswerJoe, hello!
It sounds that you have 3 years of Eligibility remaining, depending on the NCAA official records, including your redshirt year. If you move up to D-1, you would have one year taken away, if it was not another redshirt year. So, you it appears you would have 2 years left. They will make the official determination.
I've attached their websites. You and your colleges need to call for the official answer!
Take care,
Thom Brooks
