Question
My name is Will I'm a senior at Bullard High, I was wandering if you think I am ready to play football at another level. Now my problem is I broke my tibia/fibula in my right leg and have 3 screws and a rod. My leg has a slight deformity and is a little crooked I'm 5'8 about 200 even what would be a good position for me? My speed is pretty normal but slower than it use to be but I am working on that but my size from what everyone tells me is of a ss or a fullback. Now my doctors are amazed at my leg since i do stuff on it in which they never seen as far as my activities go. Can you help me!!! thank you.

Answer
William,

Only time and physical therapy will show if you are healed and capable of playing competitively again.  Your mental approach is critical.

I was an Umpire of a high school game this year.  I stand with the Linebackers as the O-Line comes toward me.  I saw a Defensive lineman come out to play.  He had one leg and a Prosthesis.  His opponent knocked him down several times.  The lad was outmatched but he was having a great time.  So, you need to work hard to enjoy the game.

Just give it your best shot!!
