Question
Thom, I currently played football at Kentucky state, a d2 school. I ended up getting red-shirted for the season, Now I'm at a community college looking forward to transferring to Eastern Michigan and playing football there. I'm 6'1, 210 lbs, and run a 4.6 in the 40. I want to walk-on and play receiver. My question is can it happen and what would I need to do?

Answer
Chris, hello!

If you redshirted at K-State, then played a year at JUCO, then you should have 3 years of eligibility left, perhaps 4 with a waiver.

I've attached some websites for your to inspect.  You need to call the NCAA about Eligibility because you would have to sit out for one year if you're moving up a division.

Your size, speed and desire will be great for Eastern Michigan.  When you get started on that team, let me know so I can follow your career. What a thrill to play college football.  You need to enjoy every second and not think about the dedicated hours it takes to be able to suit up.  You are living a great dream.
