Question
I know that this section is labeled college football but I hope you can help me out with this one. I have always wanted to be a football coach but I really don't want to be a teacher is it possible to be a full time high school football coach or do you have to be a teacher aswell.
thanks,
jack

Answer
Jack, hello!

The schools pay for the teacher who also serves as the football coach.  But, many schools give the lip service of a light weight teaching job in order to get a good coach.  So, you have to hunt for that perfect opportunity.  If you're a lousy football coach, you better be a darn good teacher or you will be out looking for a new job.  My logic is that a good football coach is a good teacher.

Leadership is a developed Art.  You can make contact with the school boards where you would like to work.  They will discuss the Pros and Cons with you.
