Question Hello.
My name is Tore,I am 19 years old,I am from Norway. I want to go to college in USA, and I also want to play Football.
I have never played any Football before, but I am a strong athlete who learns fast.
I benchpress 320pound, deadlift over 500 pound, and Squat about 450 pound. My bodyweight is 230pounds, height is 180cm. I run pretty fast, and in General I am in good shape. And I have always thought that Football could be a sport for me, but Football is almost dead in Norway.
Do you think I can be able to play for a college team?
And how do I proceed to make this possible?
I am willing to work so hard, every hour of the day my eyes are open.
Hope you can help me out!
Answer Tore, hello!
I have attached the websites for the NCAA. They will tell you the grade requirements and other eligibility rules. You have to decide where you want to go to college and which degree you will seek. The school that appeals most to you will also talk to you about their football program, or vice versa if you select the football over the degree.
No one knows what skills you possess. You will need to get with players, coaches and tutors to determine where you will be best suited. You will find out quickly if you are best playing at Offense or Defense.
If you contact the lower division schools, your chances to make the team are improved. Division III, Division II would allow the inexperienced player to get seasoned. The top schools select the best Blue Chip players and unless you are exceptional you may not make the team, or would have a limited role on it.
So, it's not possible to evaluate your level of play until you get to try out. Get started!
Let me know when you make a team so I can follow your progress!
Take care,
