Question i played 1 full year at a jr college but i got hurt in our second game of my 2nd year and i medical redshirted (hardship waiver). i am transferring to a D1 school next semester (fall 2009) for school as well as football. the coach told me since i only played one year at JUCO, my best bet was to walk on and sit out this coming fall season. i was wondering if i still get a redshirt year or do i lose that redshirt year by having to sit out this coming season?
also i wanted to know if i do have a redshirt year left, am i still 3 for 2 or am i stuck with 2 for 2? (2/3 years to play 2)
Answer Jason, hello!
It sounds like you will have two years remaining but you can request the NCAA give you a waiver for the redshirt year since you only played 2 games. They could allow you the full year.
I have attached the NCAA website and phone numbers. You need to get them and your coach to get the official opinion now rather than finding out later that you have regrets.
