College Football - I really need you advice

Question
Hello sir, my name is Brandon, I'm 18 and getting ready to attend Savannah State this fall, I really wanna play football, but I haven't touched the field in a while due to family and personal issues. I've never been in trouble, but im lacking the experience and time. It may seem like the odds are stacked against me, but i WILL do it. I wanna be a running back. Im 5'10, 175 lbs. I can't tell you how fast i run, but im no slacker. I really need your help. Can you suggest a few drills for me to work on? And also an i get a football scholarship if I make the team? Thank you for reading this sir and have a good morning/afternoon.

B. Powers

Answer
Brandon, hello!

Call the secretary to the coaches at Savannah State. They will advise the dates and requirements.  I have attached the NCAA websites and telephone numbers.  They will help you with the NCAA requirements as to grades and other Eligibility rules.

SSU is a school in transition.  They've had a rocky past 8 years but their new Coach started last season and seems organized, enegetic and the team was a positive last season.

If you have skill, dependability and endurance, you cna make the team.  They are looking for Leadership.  They can teach you how to be a better football player but if you show Leadership you will be an asset that they seek.

Take care,
