College Football/2 passes one play?

Question
If the quarterback attempts a forward pass that is deflected by a defender in such a way that the QB catches it, assuming he is still behind the line (and he can avoid the sack) can he then try to pass again? If so, assuming the pass is caught down field is the quarterback then credited with two complete passes in one play?

Answer
Eric, hello!

No, only one pass but he can lateral or run.  One complete play, one pass, not two passes.
