College Football/Football tryouts
Expert: Thom Brooks - 4/11/2010
QuestionI have a son that is graduating this year and he played highschool football. He was getting recruited pretty strong by some D-1 and D-2 schools but his GPA was a 1.8 and they backed up off him.He has the ability and skills to play D-1 football but i don't think his mind set is on that level.I'm trying to find some schools that is having tryouts to take him to it but having a hard time finding some.We live in Birmingham,Alabama and I was wondering if you had any suggestions on some football tryouts.
AnswerLyndell, hello!
You need to call every high school and college, including the U. of Montevallo, regardless if they have a football program. They can get you steered towards the schools that your son can qualify to play for. He may need to play at Junior College level until he gets his grades up. The NCAA has a minimum grade requirement in order to play ball. I have attached websites for your review.
