College Football/Forward pass after forward handoff

Question
I have been told that it is legal to pass the ball forward after a forward handoff.  That there is no rule against it. For example a Jet Sweep Pass, where the reciever takes the handoff to the front of the quarterback and then passes it downfield.

Thanks

Answer
Lance, hello!  An illegal forward pass is a penalty of 5 yards and Loss of Down.  It is okay to pitch back to a runner (lateral) and then that person can pass the ball forward.  It is not legal to pass forward after a forward handoff.
