College Football/college ball
Expert: Thom Brooks - 5/13/2010
Questionhey Thom, I'm 20 years old, played football at western high in Davie for 3 seasons, my Freshman year being the first time I actually played in pads, and probably made the worst decision I will ever make in my life and quit my senior year, I was totally lost as a person and gave up football. I was healthy running a 4.4 clock and played receiver at 6 foot 170 too. I'm trying to get my life back and know if I just work at it again I'll dominate my position, with that being said I have to get my g.e.d cause I dropped out of school also. So I'm deep in my road back, but what would you suggest is the best route to playing anywhere again. I have nothing to dream for as a future, other than playing Football. I need this game.
AnswerMark, hello! Your time is great. Get your G.E.D. The Counselors at your former school can advise. If you do not have the stats, you would find it easier to play for a lesser division school. Here in Savannah, the Savannah State University is a sports program in disarray. They would very likely accept you on the team. You may not win a scholarship at a school until after a year of play. If you are gifted, you will then get a full or partial ride.
If you know what degree you seek, contact that college and they will also give you the information for being a Walk On during their trials.
Get fired up! Don't stop until you accomplish your mission. It doesn't matter a dadgum thing about your past. What matters is what you plan on doing tomorrow. Get Busy today. If you delay a single day, starting tomorrow, I want you to drop and give me 50 pushups. Keep running sprints. Get with someone that can be a workout buddy that is playing ball. They will get you into a system to prepare.
Build on your Leadership everyday. No, drop and give me 50.
Take Care,
Thom Brooks
