College Football/Georgia Southern Football walkon tryouts

Question
Hi!, My name is Kendall and I am attending Georgia Southern in the fall. I was wondering if you could give me any information on exacly what they have walk-ons do at the tryouts as well.

Also, I was wondering if you think I have a shot at making the team.  I am trying out for linebacker . I am 5'10" 213 lbs. my 40 time isn't that fast only a 5.10 but i run the 20 yard shuttle in 4.31 seconds. I didn't play that much my junior year because a senior was ahead of me on the depth chart, but my senior year i was 1st team all region and honorable mention all greater savannah my senior year i have 108 tackles and 4 forced fumbles. Would coach Monken take that into consideration or just look at my 40 time? I really really want to make the team and believe that i can be a solid player if given the chance. Is there any way that I can help increase my chances of making the team besides lifting and working on my conditioning and speed?

I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION FROM A GSU STUDENT WHO HAS MORE INFORMATION FOR YOU ON THE DATES OF THE TRY-OUTS. I AM SURE YOU MUST HAVE THIS INFORMATION BY NOW. I WILL PUT THE OTHER PERSON's QUESTION IN THE QUESTION POOL AND YOU CAN CONTACT HIM DIRECTLY.  IF YOU GO TO THE QUESTION POOL UNDER THIS TOPIC YOU CAN REPLY TO HIM. HIS NAME IS TRISTIAN.  I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE GIVING OUT CONTACT INFORMATION OF THOSE WHO CONTACT ME WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION.
BEST OF LUCK AND KEEP UP DATED ON YOUR PROGRESS.

Here is the e-mail he sent me: " Subject: Georgia Southern Football
Question:
Hey,
My name is Tristan and I saw another user question you regarding Georgia Southern Football and walk on. I actually started attending GSU just yesterday. I have dates for the tryouts.
Would it be possible to get in contact with the person who asked you that question? (http://en.allexperts.com/q/College-Football-2792/2011/6/georgia-southern-footbal...)

Each football program is different as to what they seek in their walk-ons and what the try out process is.  You need to contact the coach directly about this.  If you have not already been in contact with the coach I suggest you do so immediately to let them know of your intent to walk-on and to ask if they have a summer workout plan they expect you to complete [i.e. strength and conditioning].
Below is a link to a questionnaire you should have filled out, make sure you do:

The contact information for the head coach is:

Jeff Monken
Phone:  (912) 478-5522
Email:  gsufootball@georgiasouthern.edu

As for what your chances are that is impossible for me to answer as I have never seen you play and don't kown your abilities, only you do.  The one thing I do know is that if you don't try, you will never get the chance to play.  Only coach Monken knows what he will consider and what he won't.  Attitude, heart, brains, etc. go a long way and have paved the way for many a walk-on.
