College Football/Division II All Star game
Expert: Thom Brooks - 3/27/2007
QuestionIs there a division II all star football game, April 7th in Louisville, KY.
AnswerAlm2, hello!
I could not find a Division II game, and only found a high school All Star game in Louisville, I will keep searching and advise if one is found. The site listed below may allow you to inquire within their city. I would suggest contacting either NCAA or the local TV/ newspaper in Louisville or Lexington.
Take care!

About me
My high school baseball coach once told me I ran like I had a piano on my back. I took that career advice and became a sportswriter. I’ve been at it for more than 30 years now, the last 27 with the Herald-Leader. I’ve covered more than 2,000 high school basketball games and 500 football games, numbers that should earn me a padded seat on press row. This truly is my old Kentucky home. I was born in Pikeville, raised in Bardstown (where legendary football coach Garnis Martin taught me driver’s ed), and educated at UK (when Dan Issel had the Cats No. 1). Life’s been a ball.

Ticket sales to the McDonald’s All-American all-star basketball game on March 28 in Louisville’s Freedom Hall should get a boost with news that O.J. Mayo (right) has commited to play.
Something had to give when Scott County’s girls played basketball at Sayre two nights ago. The Lady Cardinals went into the game No. 1 in the state in scoring (81 ppg), and Sayre was No. 1 in scoring defense (33 ppg). Scott County prevailed, 71-28.
Lexington Catholic’s girls are rated 23rd in the nation in Student Sports Fab 50. The poll refers to them as the Valkyries instead of Lady Knights. Sacred Heart, which beat LexCath a few weeks ago, is nicknamed the Valkyries.
The 43rd State Wrestling Tournament wraps up tonight (Saturday) at the Frankfort Convention Center. No KHSAA championship venue better suits its sport than this. It’s just the right size, not a bad seat in the house, and lends itself to a great atmosphere.
Considering how much controversy and money troubles the KHSAA experienced when it built its new headquarters in the early 1990s, no wonder commissioner Brigid DeVries and other officials are celebrating the retirement of the debt this Sunday (Feb. 18) at its Executive Drive location.
