When as the last time none of the Heisman finalists were playing for the national
championship?

Tom, hello!  I'm not sure how to pull that record for you but have attached About.com 's info about all of the Heisman winners.  Hope I got you started on your quest!!

It looks like 2001, 1999 and 1994, 1990, 1989, and 1988 were a few .......
