College Football/High School walk on to the NFL

Question
Has there ever been a High School graduate that did not go to college, but, was outstanding in football,  to go straight to the NFL after graduating from high school?

Answer
Janet, hello!  Yes, many of the old NFL players did not enter or complete college.  I will research this week to see what NFL.com and NCAA.com and other sites have on record to show their names.  In the 1940's through 1960's, it was common to not have any college or have incompletes.  The percentage is much larger today of college to pro because of the availability of more schools with more scholarships.  I remember seeing some names in an old Sporting News from 25 years ago but will try to recapture those old memories for you!!

I'll be back in touch!

Take care,
