Questionwe are ignorant re the proceedures to get my son into a college... we were from South Africa and my son is an ex rugby player....
He is 6 ft 2, 215 lbs, runs the 40 in 4.6, ( can improve that ) is a 4 yr varsity starter in high school ( def end ) selected all county 2004, 2005, 2006, selected all area first team 2005, 2006, - set school record in sacks. ighest tackles on defense most of the time. Captain 2005, 2006
My son was the youngest student in his school in South Africa to play for the prestegiuos St Charles High 1st Team Rugby team in Natal. He is fearless and fast... his coaches will tell you he gives 150% and is a pleasure to coach.
How do I go about approaching a college here in Florida for tryouts???

AnswerGood Morning, Andre!
The first thing you do is to share your son's statistics with every Coach where he has an interest in playing. That college will advise the dates for tryouts. He will be offered scholarships, probably by the school of his choice. You need to send out his information immediately and they will come to you, if their team needs his service.
With his skills, he can play ball for many schools. But, I sense it is his Leadership and enthusiasm that would separate him from the average player that will be competing for his position.
He sounds as if he would fit in with the Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, or Georgia Southern Eagles! Those are my favorites, but I'd be proud to see him as a
Florida Gator, Miami Hurricane or South Florida Bull!
Have a great year!
