Question
What does it mean in overtime that the team has to get a first down or score. What happens if they just get a first down

Answer
P. Thompson, hello!

In Overtime, the team starts at their opponent's 25 yard line.  There is no clock (other than the Referee calling the "Ready for Play" between downs).

The team must score or they turn the ball over to the other team, which then gets to start from the 25 yard line.

Either team keeps moving the ball towards their opponent's goal line until they score or lose possession.

Hope I've helped!

Have a great week!
