Question
Hi i am currently a sophmore in high school about to be a junior. I am going to be varsity next year and i am now trying to look into the recruiting process. I play Oline/Dline and my stats are the following; I am 5'11 230 max bench: 215 max squat: 335 max dead: 385 max clean: 185. Now my question to you is what can i do to help my self get noticed by colleges? I am attending several college camps this year also, but does that really help?

Answer
John, hello!

You bet it will help to go to camps for the exposure.  You need to send film or stat sheets to any college you have an interest in.  You are just now hitting the stage of your life where the disciplined workouts will start showing up.  You should get bigger and faster!

Make contact with the college of interest and they will advise you of their dates and/or scholarship offers as they approach their legal times to discuss with you.

Keep working hard and you will get your reward.  With the weight your lifting now, be certain you don't exert to the point where you ruin yourself.  Ask the coaches what the guys on the team lift by average and compare your progress to the average.  You need to make the attempt to be the best, but you are just about to get into the prime building time, so be patient.

I wish you the best of success!  Let me know when you get the college of choice.  Get that education in case football does not work out for you.

Take care,
