Question
Hi, I play High school football right now, and I am about to be a Junior, but I
might quit playing, because of my size, and I am not going to be on Varsity
until next year. So my plan is to quit, workout hard for 2 years, graduate, and
tryout for a college, but will a college accept me even if I do really good at
the tryout because i quit playing in high school???  And what about NFL, how old
do you have to be to tryout for them??? Would they care if I quit, even if I am
a really good player at that time???

Answer
Omar, hello!

Many of the colleges will not be interested in looking at prospective players unless you have a track record, (films, stats, etc.) for them to mull over.  If you walk on, you will be at a disadvantage because you do not have the background others bring to the table.  I would encourage you to stay on the team and pursue a starting job while you workout like a Mad Man!  You are in the age cycle where your body will be formed by what you do over the next few years.  Keep working!
