Question
My name is Kevin Newhouse and I am 18 years old, and I would like to walk on to a D1-AA football team.  In high school I never really played any games.  I have worked out in the off season with team.  And proudly to say gained knowledge of the game.  The reason I didn't play any games because I had quit before the season started.  My mentality as a football player was to weak at the time.  Since I have been in college I grown to be a better person, and I believe I can finish what I started a year and half a go

Answer
Kevin, The Dallas Cowboys had a RB named Robert Newhouse, so maybe your name alone will make the Coaches take a look at you!

Not knowing the team you prefer playing for, I would say that while spring games have concluded, you need to contact the Coach (Athletic Department) now.  They will advise the next times for tryouts/meetings.  The odds are stacked against walkons unless you show physical and mental abilities.  You need to get with any local Coaches (even high school) and they will advise the physical requirements necessary.  Get with any local JUCO or YMCA to learn more.

Let me know when you make that team!!!

P.S.  I was in San Diego this past week for my son's wedding.  We're back in Savannah, Georgia now, so I'm sorry for the delay in contacting you.
