Question
I really like football, but i have little to no real experience in playing. I am pretty fast in the 40 with a 4.78, and I can make really good catches. I have been playing sports since I was 5.(baseball, soccer, and tennis) I am a junior in high school, and since the coach at my school will not give me a try out because of my inexperience. I was thinking about trying for walk on at a college. What do you think?

Answer
Kevin, you need to contact your local or favored college and ask for a tryout.  Many may stonewall you if you do not have much experience.  You need to find out if you can take tough hits.  The other guy that is tackling you is also very fast and tough.  So, you just do not know until you line up.

If your school's coach will not give you a tryout, you may want to call coaches from other schools in your area to get them to give you a chance.  If you talk to other players on the team, get one of them to ask your coach to give you a look at the position you seek.

Get focused and get motivated.  You can play if you get your mind set on it.  Just go get it done!
