Question
What are my chances of playing outside/middle linebacker in college (most likely redshirting)?  I'm a senior in high school but haven't played any varsity ball yet.  I have locked up a spot for this year, though.  I'm about 6'0-200 lbs and have a 4.9-5.0 40 time.  Thanks

Answer
Adam, hello!  You need to have a good year that will get the attention of scouts and film.  Keep as much film and statistics as possible, while still being a Team Leader.  You will need to show the college of your choice this information in order for them to consider your talent.

Keep working hard.  You are in an age era of how you conduct yourself in workouts will pay dividends in the future.  You are about to make dramatic improvements over the next 2-3 years, so work very hard and intelligently.  If you play with reckless abandon and injure yourself, then you will lose a chance (or part of the window) to play.

Keep your studies up so that will not derail your sporting plans.

Have a fantastic season!
