Questionwhat are the odds for a person to make to make it pro
AnswerSharman, Good Morning!
The odds are great. Even players that are great players in college find difficulty making the next move. Of course, the position determines the chances of one making the NFL roster, too. A big, strong, fast lineman stands a better chance than an elite quarterback or receiver in taking a starting spot away from the veterans.
Most of the college players are shocked at how much bigger, faster, smarter and more esperienced the NFL is.
The percentages I've written about in the past still do not reflect an individuals' personal focus, discipline, ability and Leadership.
If you look at the NFL draft each year, there are a few superstars, but normally the typical rookie is just an excellent ball player. Look at the thousands of young men that play high school and college, but never get to the next level. So, it is indeed only a few each year.
The 32 NFL teams have over 1,500 players, not counting taxi squads and reserves and NFL Europe connections. The incoming new players do not have a lot of slots open for them, unless they are exceptional.
I hope I've gotten you on the right track and have given the answer you were seeking.
Have a beautiful weekend!
