Question
QUESTION: hi my name is jeremiah and i am strongly working towards making the football team at northwestern university. i am 6' 2  218 pounds and run a 4.38 40. i feel that i would make a great safety or qb, theres just one problem: I've never played before and everytime i contact the team they say that they wont even see me unless i have a highlight reel or a coach backing me. Is there anyway to get around this.

ANSWER: Jeremiah, hello!

If they will not allow you to just walk into their Coaching Office, I would suggest that you start working out at the places where the football players gather.  Get someone to listen to your request.  They will get you an audience with a Coach. You will get on the team.  You will be a great asset for them!  Don't give up!

QUESTION: just a follow up, what position would i be suitable for at my size?

Answer
Jeremiah, hey!

Your size indicates a Defensive Back, Running Back, Wide Receiver, or Quarterback.  Your skills will have to determine where you would help the team.  If you are near any City League football teams, or if you can coach one, you may have a better chance to catch the eye of any scouts for the college of your choice.
